A Bit About Me
Welcome to Nourishing Nurses, I am so excited to introduce this platform to the nursing community! My name is Vanessa and I have been a Registered Nurse for 14 years. I currently have the privilege of serving the pediatric population.

I truly feel that being a nurse is a great privilege and I have no regrets about becoming a nurse. However, showing up to help others when you yourself are struggling can be challenging. Soon after becoming a nurse, I realized that if I did not learn how to support myself there was no way I would last in this profession. Nursing requires so much, we must use our clinical knowledge, hearts, energy, and bodies every day. Like many my journey has been filled with highs and lows. Some years I have been balanced in caring for and supporting my own well-being and health. Other years I have been a complete mess, eating all 3 meals out of a vending machine (true story). I have discovered that there are several elements required for nursing to be sustainable. After the pandemic threw us all into an isolated state, I was reminded that so much of what makes nursing sustainable is knowing that others are walking our same path. If we are walking next to someone, naturally we would talk to them. So let the talking begin. I am constantly looking and searching for answers and different ways of seeing things. That is why this project is so close to my heart, because I believe we can learn so much from each other. From one nurse to another, thank you so much for all you do in serving others!
